The Gloria Adelson Field Houses at NewBridge on the Charles opened November 2009. This skilled nursing facility is made up of 18 houses, is Medicare and Medicaid certified, and offers long-term care and short-term rehabilitative services. The physical environment and model of care has been developed by staff at Hebrew Rehabiliation Center and Orchard Cove. What makes this model of care unique for a long-term care setting is the layout, staffing roles, and elder's autonomy. Each house has 14 to 16 private bedrooms surrounding a working kitchen and living room, creating plenty of space for community programming. One house has a kosher kitchen. Hebrew Rehabilitation Center, a kosher nursing facility, is home to over 600 seniors. Long-term care, short-term rehabilitative care, and medical acute care are all available at the Roslindale Campus. In 1999 Hebrew Rehabilitation Center added a bilingual services program designed to provide culturally competent care to the growing population of Russian-speaking Jewish seniors in the Boston area. Golda Meir House is an independent residential setting located in Newton, a suburb of Boston, situated near the MBTA Woodland Green Line Station and the Newton-Wellesley Hospital. The building has 199 one-bedroom and two-bedroom units. Most of the apartments are subsidized for income-eligible tenants, with 23 units available at market rent. All tenants of Golda Meir House participate in a weekday kosher lunch buffet. The building has 24-hour on-site staff and tenants have access to a staffed fitness center; intergenerational programs; educational, cultural, and social evetns; computer centers; handicapped accessible transportation; and volunteer opportunities within JCHE and in the broader community. When additional support is needed, the Resident Services Coordinator can offer assistance and JCHE's Caring Choices program can provide in-home services. JCHE’s Ulin House, Leventhal House, and Genesis House are three interconnected buildings in an urban residential neighborhood of Boston. This setting is considered to be independent living for the residents. The 700+ independent units within these three buildings include studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments. JCHE tenants who live at Ulin House, Leventhal House, or Genesis House have access to Resident Service Coordinators, a geriatric nurse practitioner who is on-site weekly, and an adult day health center open each weekday. With 10 homes in a five story building, this Medicare and Medicaid certified facility will offer long-term care and short-term care rehabilitative services with a unique delivery of care called “The Green House” model. “The Green House” model specifies facility size, interior design, staffing patterns, and methods of delivering skilled professional services.
